Career History

Samuel joined Kada through the Sheffield City Region’s RISE scheme in 2019 after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a 1st class Geography degree. Prior to finishing University, Samuel had worked in various roles across retail, education and healthcare sectors.  His present role as Research Coordinator, involves planning the stages of Kada’s project work and delivering communications between Kada and clients. Samuel also has direct involvements in research processes, undertaking business surveys, telephone interviews and desk-based research, as well as data analysis and report collation.


Samuel has interests in social and economic development, sustainability and innovation. His strengths include breaking down complex problems and delivering new and valuable insights to clients. Samuel is proficient in different approaches to analysing information, regularly investigating qualitative and quantitative datasets, in conjunction with the use of statistical methods.   Samuel understands the value of clearly disseminated research, and works to provide clear and coherent findings through his report writing.


Samuel has experience in evaluating various EU and UK Government funded business support programmes, across fields of international trade, resource efficiency and early stage start-up support. He has also worked on several Government schemes including the Future High Streets Fund and Business Basics. Samuel has also provided advisory services for HEI clients, with recent work including a landscape review of decarbonisation opportunities within the energy sector.


Samuel’s skills include; data analysis, identification of trends and patterns, statistical analysis, report writing, strategy development, presentation, project management, managing work to deadlines and client relationship management.

Outside of work

Samuel enjoys an active lifestyle involving lots of running and playing 5-aside football. He is also a keen rock climber (weather permitting), and can be regularly found making the most of the great climbing destinations the Peak District offers! He also enjoys cooking, travel and spending time with family and friends.

Interesting fact

Samuel has recently run his first marathon, and has ambitions to run in the London marathon next year!
